Welcome to my blog.

[Note: Standards update their rules and specifications quite regularly. Therefore you may find information in this review that is outdated already as the research took place between May and July/August 2009.]

My name is Paulo  and I have completed my Msc Environmental Technology at Imperial  College London in September 2009. As part of the course, I decided to do my thesis about: “Review of Forestry Carbon Standards – Development of a tool for organizations to identify the most appropriate carbon credit.”. You can find the thesis in this blog or you can download the pdf version on the “Download pdf” on the right inside (NB: new version updated on 20th December 2009) .

By doing this research, the results demonstrated that some standards certify carbon credits without providing enough evidence that the carbon credits are measurable, verifiable, additional, permanent and unique. This research also proved that some standards do provide all the guarantees to provide a high quality carbon credit.

I invite you to find more about the research by following the links on the right side.
